Our Calling

We do not exist as a church simply to provide another option. But we are here because God has called us into existence to worship Him and to be Christ’s body to one another and in our community.

What we believe and do is not “something new,” but is rooted deeply in ancient creeds and historic confessions. We are not independent; our local church is tangibly in fellowship with and accountable to our denomination, the Presbyterian Church in America.

What we hold to be true

Worship is the most important thing we do. Corporate worship of the one true God is the central event in the life of the church, and a vital event in the life of the Christian. When we gather as the church, we are responding to God’s call.  He has called us together to refresh us in His good news – renew us in the reality of His promises.

The three Persons of the Godhead – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – exist around us, work within us, and are worshiped by us. The Father has called us to Himself through the Son by the Holy Spirit.  As we worship we intentionally recognize the wonderful, holy fellowship and activity of the Trinity.

Since God is acting upon us through word and sacrament—by his Spirit—renewing His gracious promises, we respond in repentance and faith.  As we turn from self and sin to Christ the Savior, we pray, sing, affirm our faith, confess, hear the Word and receive the sacraments.  There is a dialogue going on in our worship.  As God pours out His grace in Christ, we join the worship He receives in heaven.

The power of God for salvation is the gospel.  We search all the Scriptures, always finding that Jesus saves. Our worship service is centered around Scripture.  From beginning to end, our only hope is the atoning work of Christ.  He has taken our sin and covered us in his righteousness.

We worship because we must; otherwise life gets completely out of focus and distorted.

We are a community of Christ-followers walking together.  We are made to live in relationship with each other.  After all, we are created in the image of God, who has always, throughout eternity, lived in relationship: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The fellowship of God is perfect and untainted by sin. Ours, of course, is not. Yet we can stick together, forgiving each other because we have been accepted by God through Jesus. This is what church is all about – community in Christ.

Our fellowship with each other in Christ is not just for us, of course. The church is for the world. That means we are here together to reach out and welcome our neighbors into the joy.

Furthermore, we are here to pray, serve, support and send as Christ builds His church and extends His kingdom throughout world.

The Parables of Jesus

“The Mysteries of God’s Kingdom Revealed Through the Stories Jesus Told”

“Jesus was the master storyteller. There is not a truism so familiar or a doctrine so complex that He could not give it new depth and insight through the telling of a simple story.” — John MacArthur.

Time and Place: Join us as we explore Jesus’ Parables at 11:15 AM each Sunday in the Koinonia Classroom — study led by Mr. Ross Walters.
