1 Samuel - Sunday Studies

For Adults of All Ages

1 Samuel: The Lives of 2 Kings

Since Jesus said to the Pharisees – “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of Me”. Peter, in the book of Acts, singles out Samuel as one of the prophets foretelling the days concerning Christ, we look to see Christ revealed in the Old Testament book of 1 Samuel.

We know Christ is there, for the whole scripture is written by Him, concerning Him, and testifies of His coming, His death, and His resurrection. As opposed to the saints of Samuel’s time, we have the benefit of seeing these things as accomplished, but there is comfort and joy in knowing they were foretold long before their perfect consummation in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! These are the things we hope to see during this Sunday Studies hour. Our text will be 1 Samuel, and the format will be Bible reading followed by open discussion.

Time & Place: All ages are welcome to join us each Sunday morning from 11:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center, Koinonia Classroom — study led by Mr. Toren Andersson, Elder

Everything is changing (unexpectedly) but God has NOT – in fact, He planned life this way. Ladies of single, married or single again join us as we read through “The Afternoon of Life” by Elyse Fitzpatrick, we will have discussion, then time for prayer and sharing at the end of each session.

Young Families Class

His Prayer

“He will still be looking after them. He will be their great Intercessor… That is his object and purpose in praying this prayer audibly, that they may come to know, while He is still with them, the concern He has about them, and will continue to have even though He is going to be out of their sight.” Lloyd-Jones, The Assurance of Our Salvation

The most important conversation happening right now is not the one going on around us, or even inside of us; but it is the one that is going on above us. Jesus Christ, our Savior, is praying for us right now. And the words of that prayer are recorded for us in John 17.

Time and Place: This class meets each Sunday morning from 11:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the choir room of the children’s wing in the main building. Although this class is taught with young families in mind, it is open to all who come — study led by Associate Pastor Dave Preston.
